"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

"Waldorfy" books I recommend

Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne

This book talks about clearing out "stuff", not over scheduling, allowing children down time, and reducing the amount of "adult" information they recieve (such as news, disasters, negative things going on around), and sums it up by saying,

"I have a really simple measure before I say something in front of my children. I ask myself three questions. Is it kind? Is it true? Is it necessary? And unless I can answer "yes" to all three of those, I don't say it in front of my kids.

Heaven on Earth: A Handbook for Parents of Young Children by Sharifa Oppenheimer

Beyond the Rainbow Bridge : Nurturing our children from birth to seven
by Barbara J. Patterson , Pamela Bradley

Mitten Strings For God : Reflections For Mothers In A Hurry By Katrina Kenison
http://www.amazon.com/Mitten-Strings-God-Reflections-Mothers/dp/B000LP676A/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318198407&sr=1-1

In an age when "keeping up with the Joneses" refers not only to material riches but also to a whirlwind of activities, author Katrina Kenison humbly asks, "Just whose standards am I living by, anyway?"  Kenison weaves together personal stories and wisdom from such philosophers as Thoreau and Anne Morrow Lindbergh; the graceful resulting tapestry shows how peace and simplicity can be savored in a world hell-bent on pushing people to accomplish more, own more, and do it all as quickly as possible.

The Temperaments and the Adult-Child Relationship By Kristie Karima Burns, MH, ND
http://www.amazon.com/Temperaments-Adult-Child-Relationship-Kristie-Burns/dp/0557451272/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1318198695&sr=1-1

Through guides, examples, stories and lessons the reader learns how to type him/herself, family members, students, and friends and to delve into the mysteries of how the different temperaments interact with each other.
