So this was a relaxing getaway weekend to Tegernsee Lake, 50 minutes south of Munich in the true heart of Bavaria. We stayed at a beautiful hotel that catered to the spa experience. And for once I put my camera down for most of our time in order to relax and indulge in my favorite things! Tristan's favorite thing was definately the heated pool where he would swim himself into complete exhaustion. Here is my beautiful brown eyed boy giving me that look of, "Can we get a pool of our own please?"

We took a walk down to the lake and emersed ourselves in the project of boat making. Tristan is searching for just the right pieces of driftwood to make his "birch bark boat".

We used leaves for sails, but never actually got a picture of all the finished projects in the water because Tristan decided at the last minute that he didn't want them to float away.

Tristan loved the water "noodle" and would repeatedly jump into the pool with daddy at the ready!

Noodle boy was very proud of himself!

Now I should mention that this is NOT a kiddy pool, it is >4 feet deep. I should also mention that Tristan does not know how to swim...but that didn't stop him. Here is the conversation anyone standing within earshot would have heard between Christian and Tristan:
"Let go dada, I can swim."
"No you can't, you haven't learned yet."
"Yes I can, now let me go, NOW!"
"Okay, hang onto the side and I'll let go. You swim whenever you're ready."
So then Tristan would grin, take a deep breath, let go, kick like mad and swim for about 3 seconds, after which he would promptly sink to the bottom of the pool. Christian would then pull him up and as soon as he had finished choking and rubbing his face...it started all over again, and he would immediately say "Let go dada, I can swim!"
This went on for hours.

Tristan our fearless warrior. He was so brave and determined to swim.

This was the last split second of doggy scramble before going down. We give him tons of credit for his spunk. He never gave up, never cried, was always laughing and wanted to keep on going.

So while the boys were in the pool I was having the time of my life in the sauna and steam rooms! First I would do the steamy sauna then the dry Finnish sauna, then jump into one of the showers that blasts you from every which way and sideways, then I would cool off with a giant glass of water and repeat the whole procedure a dozen times!
Auf Weidersehen!
