"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

The Hofgarten and Viktualienmarkt

We spent the weekend enjoying the sights and sounds of Munich Center. August is the high travel season for most of Europe, as children go to school right until the end of July, then return in the beginning of September. So for those four weeks in August everyone is very busy traveling somewhere, and all the best travel destinations are packed with people. So we are sitting back and chilling out and waiting for the high travel season to come to an end so we can hit the road again with very little tourists in our path!
So here we are in the Hofgarten just outside of Odeonplatz enjoying the flowers, playing kick with a ball, and a little petanque as well.

Here is Tristan getting a few pointers from his daddy! By the way, NO ONE has ever beaten Christian at Petanque....no one.

We enjoyed the Vitualienmarkt for all the fresh produce on display. It is the largest and oldest food market in Munich. I was able to get some yummy beets and summer squash....so good!

Nice form Tristan!

There is a statue in Marienplatz just in front of the Glockenspiel that has four cherub-like angles fighting lions, serphants, and dragons. I have admired them ever since we arrived here in October, and I finally got around to taking their pictures.

Inside the Hofgarten with the Theatinerkirche in the distance.

The Hofgarten, where an orchestra was playing in the building just behind Tristan.

So don't worry, the blog is not "done" (as some have so innocently suggested to me because we have not traveled in some weeks) and we are far from over...we are simply biding our time. We plan to be off and running again in September!
Enjoy the summer!
