"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

Back In Germany Reflecting On Our Christmas Holiday

We arrived safe and sound in Germany yesterday afternoon...and even though London Heathrow had some snow, we were able to land and take off without any delays!!
Tristan slept for four hours on the first flight, none on the second, and one hour for the car ride home. After being up for 30 hours, we all headed to bed at 7:30pm and slept for 15 hours!! Yes, this is true...I have not misprinted, I did not make a mistake, you are not seeing double, 15 long HOURS of sleep! We have not seen 15 hours of sleep in several years, possibly even decades. We woke up at 10:30am this morning! It was wonderful! We are refreshed!

We did some really fun stuff on our two week Christmas holiday. Right after Christmas we made some gingerbread houses at Joey's house!

Good job Tristan! What a lovely house you made!

We went rock climbing... but at the last minute Tristan changed his mind and decided he didn't want to wear all the climbing gear, so he bounced around on the mats with Emma instead.

This is the closest he did get to rock climbing.... two inches off the ground for a total of five seconds!

We went to a New Year's party where Tristan and Ava got to share some hugs!

A sledding expedition in bitter cold weather was led by Tristan, Emma, Nicholas, and Aidan.

The wind was whipping and we were all frozen by the time we left!

My little snow bunny!

We had a really lovely time at home. Thank you to all of our friends and family for all of their hospitality.
We spent our first day back in Germany sledding and taking a walk in the woods to our favorite Bavarian restaurant for chicken soup and apple strudel!
Auf Wiedersehen!
