"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

Rothenburg ob der Tauber Germany!

When Christian asked me what I wanted for my birthday back in October, I told him, "You can take me to Rothenburg in December!", and he did.

This was my birthday weekend! And it was fabulous! We hit a snowstorm just over half way there, which made driving a bit tricky...but when we arrived at our destination Friday evening, it was covered in a thick blanket of snow. It was like being in a fairytale.

You simply MUST go check out the hotel that we stayed in that was a 13th century mansion. We were on the tipity top with the best view in the city...amazing! We were in room 34.

This was the view from our room the night we arrived.

I came up with a unique idea. I wanted to buy Tristan a really nice German made wooden pyramid, but not give it to him until he either bought his first house or got married. We will keep it tucked away all perfectly packaged up with a note from us and this picture printed out of him buying it when he was 3 years old.

My birthday indulgence was to have a lovely cup of hot chocolate... so here Tristan and I shared a creamy mustache!

And what trip would be complete without a picture of the local yummies?

Tristan is listening carefully for Santa's elves!

It was a very special birthday wish, and a magical weekend! Thank you Christian! xoxo
