"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

Just Hanging Around!

Since we are going to be traveling next week, and by airplane at that, we thought we should stay local this weekend and do some exploring through Munich. Tristan had fun painting dinsours this week...
This is his serious and focused look.

We spent Saturday walking all over Schwabing which is the area just northeast of Munich center. Mrs. Thaw has come to Munich, and the snow has all but disappeared, so Tristan was out in full force with his bike.
Tristan is standing at the foot of "The Walking Man", located on Leopoldstrasse...modern art meant to suggest "A human being with a purposeful stride and body language searching for new horizons".

Walking along the shops, we found a beautiful three story Waldorf toy store! I wish I could buy everything inside! Christian and I were having as much fun as Tristan looking and playing with displays. Not a single piece of plastic in the whole store! We couldn't resist this "Flip and Kick" which is like a combination of soccer and a pinball machine... and yes it's made of WOOD.
Here is a serious father and son match.
And here is Tristan making a score!
This game is great for adults too...as Christian and I have already have some intense matches!
