"Where in the world are we today?"

In years past this blog was a way for family and friends to join us on our journey as we lived and traveled throughout Europe. Beginning September 2017 it will include our journey into Waldorf homeschooling/worldschooling. I hope to offer inspiration and connection to those that love to travel and home school their children...

Home For The Holidays!

We started out the holiday season with the Waldorf Holiday Fair! Tristan is proudly displaying the candle he made. It was many trips around a table...dunking a candle wick into hot bees wax, but within no time he had created a real candle.

Next up at the fair was trying his hand at King Auther's sword. He was able to get the sword out of the stone after the mysteriously robed man told Tristan that the strength he needed was in his heart.

Then I tried my hand at something I've been wanting to do for ages, and that is to make my own pies from scratch, which was to include the pie crust (the most intimidating!).

But with my grandmother by my side cheering me on and giving me the confidence I needed, the pumpkin pie turned out beautiful!

Another holiday fair, decorating Christmas cupcakes.

YUM!

Then came time to decorate our tree.

And make Christmas cookies...

for our family and friends, and of course for Santa.

The mouse house and mouse village.

Tristan dictated his letter to Santa, and my heart melted! He didn't ask for anything, he simply wanted to wish him a "safe drive"!

Tristan left a bowl of "magic" oatmeal for the reindeers along with the carrots on Christmas Eve (thanks Aunt Rose...fantastic idea!), and was thrilled to find it had been eaten.

What's that behind the tree?

The "practice motercycle" from Santa!

My second pie of the holiday season was this beautiful apple pie for Christmas Day. I thought my pumpkin and apple pies were so darn gorgeous I was found frequently talking to them telling them how pretty they were. Pies have feeling too you know!
